Jacob Tadesse currently serves as the Director of Operations & Special Projects for the National Diversity Council (NDC) and has been with the organization since 2007. As Director of Operations & Special Projects he is responsible for developing strategies and implementation of plans to improve all aspects of operations. Mr. Tadesse also serves as the liaison for the California Diversity Council Board of Directors and project manager for events and programs, including the implementation of Salesforce for Nonprofits, Hoovers, and G-Suite.
Prior to this role, Mr. Tadesse served as the Office Manager for two years, where he oversaw events and programs, defined and improved internal processes, ensured operations stayed within agreed upon budgets and timelines. He was responsible for contractor payroll, and led staff recruitment, training and development. He obtained the Certified Diversity Professional designation by graduating from the DiversityFIRST Certification Program in 2016. He also was the producer for the National webinar series, which focused on all aspects of workplace diversity, inclusion, and leadership.
Prior to his role as office manager, Mr. Tadesse served as a Sr. Coordinator, where he managed and developed diversity councils in California and Arizona. He also served as an admin for the organization’s Founder & CEO, and the President & EVP. In 2015, he led the headquarter office relocation and re-design of the IT network infrastructure due to staff growth. He also led the staff in business development, partnering with American Honda Motors, Blue Shield of California, City National Bank, Keck Medicine School of USC, and Kia Motors America.
Prior to his role as a Sr. Coordinator, Mr. Tadesse served as an entry-level coordinator, where he built and developed councils in Pennsylvania and Tri-State (New York, New Jersey, & Connecticut); partnering with Accenture, AIG, ATT, Comcast, Drexel University, Lee Hecht Harrison, MTA, MTV Networks and Walmart. Prior to joining the NDC full-time, Mr. Tadesse was an intern for the Texas Diversity Council where he helped coordinate the 2007 Texas Diversity & Leadership Conference, with diversity stars: Anna Escobedo Cabral, former U. S. Treasurer; Carly Fiorina, former Chair & CEO of Hewlett Packard; and Retired General Colin Powell, former Secretary of State.
Mr. Tadesse received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. He was a Century Scholar & Ambassador who graduated summa cumme laude with a distinguished diploma from Jack Yates Senior High Magnet School of Communications. In his spare time, Mr. Tadesse prides himself in speaking to students. He is a serial entrepreneur, and loves to pilot drones, watch movies, travel and blog.
